Bourbon Barrel-Aged Stout

Moo Brew’s brewmaster Dave Macgill and Archie Rose Distilling Co.’s master distiller Dave Withers have been quietly discussing an idea over the last year about ageing imperial stout in ex-bourbon barrels. The very same barrels Archie Rose use to age their (yet to be released) Single Malt Whisky.

Before long, thirty whisky barrels arrived in Tasmania. Months went by, chemistry happened and now we have a stout with an unsettling old soul, infused with Archie Rose Single Malt whisky and ex-bourbon American Oak.
